Abstract:A Brief Discussion on the Application of the Internet of Things in Libraries The Internet of ThingsIoTwas first proposed by Kevin Ashtonthe executive director of the Auto-ID Center at the Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyMITas early as 1999Edwards2012In the futurevarious physical objects and facilities we encounter will be embedded with electronic chipsThrough softwaresensorsand network connectionsthese objects will be able to collect and exchange data with each otherThereforefor the Internet of Things to become widespreadthe most important prerequisite is that everything must have a chipOnly in this way can sensors collect chip informationextending more data analysis and application possibilitiesThe physical services of libraries primarily focus on providing access to collection materials and space usageBy leveraging IoT technologylibraries can enhance their physical collectionsLibrary Automation Consulting Service Collection Classification Retrieval and Indexing Institutional Collection The Internet of ThingsIoTwas proposed by Kevin Ashtonthe Executive Director of the Auto-ID Center at the Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyMITas 物聯網(Internet of Thing,簡稱 10T)早在1999 年就由美國麻省理工學院 Auto-ID 中心執行主任下evin Ashton 提出(Edwards, 2012),未來我們過遭的各種實體物什、設施,都會嵌入電子晶片,透過軟體、感應器和網路連接,讓這些物 件彼此收集和交換數據。所以物聯網若能普及,最重要的前置作業,就是需要萬物皆有晶片,如此才能透過感應器蒐集晶片資訊,延伸更多的資訊分析與應用。 圖書館的實體服務,以提供館藏資料借閱與空間使用為主,透過物聯網的技術,可以提升圖書館實體館藏與空間的資訊服務能力。事實上目前許多圖書館所建置機制,己經開始導入物聯網的基礎服務,本文就目前圖書館所應用的物聯網 技術,以及未來的應用發展,做一簡單的介紹與發想。
